Denis Shiels is one of only four current pensioners who served both in the army and in the Royal marines (the Navy's soldiers), finishing as a sergeant. Denis has served 2 stints in the forces, the second saw him in Aden with the Trucial Oman Scouts and training the Abu Dhabi Defence Force. Denis joined the Pensioner's in 2007. Between these stints Denis joined the Manchester Police and hated it. I've had an interesting life and the Queen doesn't owe me a penny God bless her."
