Gift Aid

Using Gift Aid means that for every pound that you give, we can claim an additional 25 pence from HMRC, helping your donation go further. This means that £10 can be turned into £12.50 just so long as donations are made through Gift Aid. Imagine what a difference that could make, and it doesn't cost you a thing.

So, if you want your donation to go further, Gift Aid it. Just complete the Gift Aid form accessed from the link at the bottom of the page and send it back to us either by emailing us at appeal@chelsea-pensioners.org.uk or posting it to us at:

The Appeal Office
Royal Hospital Chelsea
Royal Hospital Road
London
SW3 4SR

To qualify for Gift Aid, you must pay income tax or capital gains tax at least equal to the amount we will claim in the tax year. Companies may also make donations. They should pay the full amount to The Chelsea Pensioners' Appeal and deduct this amount when working out profits for corporation tax purposes.

The Chelsea Pensioners' Appeal will forward details of your gift to HMRC in order to reclaim the tax. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you may recover the difference between the higher rate of tax and the standard rate on the on the gross value of the gift by entering the details on your tax return (that is currently an extra 20% for higher rate tax payers and 30% for additional rate tax payers).

For higher rate and additional rate tax payers this extra tax of the difference between the standard rate and any higher/additional rate to charity can be donated by completing the box on the Self Assessment tax return instructing HMRC to pay this to the Chelsea Pensioners' Appeal. Taxpayers who wish to do this should quote reference BAN26SG.
