Over the centuries The Royal Hospital Chelsea has faithfully delivered Wren's vision of retirement living to thousands of retired soldiers. The Royal Hospital Chelsea is not owned by the state and thus cares for, maintains and modernises its unique historic environment through its own efforts and those of its supporters.
In-Pensioners find friendship, compassion and professional support here. The Royal Hospital Chelsea today is recognised internationally as exemplary in providing a fitting home for veterans.
To sustain this unique community in to the 21st century and beyond, The Royal Hospital Chelsea, with the help of its many friends in Britain and around the world, has embarked on a major program to the living quarters known as the long wards.

When you become a friend you join a unique network of people who become ambassadors for The Royal Hospital Chelsea.
Friends have the opportunity to join in the social life of the community and experience for themselves the wonderful legacy that King Charles II & Christopher Wren left the Nation and her old Soldiers.
Please note that Platinum and Gold Friends benefit from a Royal Hospital Chelsea affiliation with The Sloane Club. Your Friendship allows access to the elegant Linley designed restaurant and its private dining room. It also permits weekend stays at the club - Friday through to Monday, (Sunday night must be included in the stay)
