Chelsea Pensioner stars in 1000 Londoners film

17th July 2014

Chelsea Pensioner Ted Roberts has starred in a short film as part of the 1000 Londoners project, which aims to be the biggest documentary series ever made about a city.

The three minute film about Ted, who is from Peckham but now lives at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, focusses on his philosophy on how to enjoy life.

According to Ted, “Life’s too short. If you can make someone laugh every day, then you’ve cracked it. That’s probably why I didn’t get promoted.”

Ted’s film and the 1000 Londoners series is available to watch here.  Each week a new film about a Londoner is being uploaded on to the site.

1000 Londoners is produced by South London based, film production company and social enterprise, Chocolate Films.
