Freemasons donate £6000 for new Infirmary beds
28th September 2015
The Royal Hospital Chelsea received a generous donation today from Mandalay Lodge in Kent.
The cheque was presented by Ron Warren Esq (Master) during a group visit to the Royal Hospital’s Margaret Thatcher Infirmary, which will be using the funds to purchase two new beds for the Chelsea Pensioners to use while resident at the care home.
Speaking at the presentation, Colonel Laura Bale, Director of Care Services at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, said: “We are so grateful for this generous donation of £6000 from Mandalay Lodge, which will be put to good use towards much needed new beds for In-Pensioners here [at the Margaret Thatcher Infirmary]. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”
Also present were Chelsea Pensioners Audrey Merton and Doug Hassel, who are both currently resident at the Infirmary, which offers special care for Chelsea Pensioners with higher dependency needs.
