Royal Hospital Chelsea to host Masterpiece Art Fair

Masterpiece London will once again return to the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea this year showcasing works that span over 4,000 years of art history.

The fair will run from 25 June – 1 July drawing collectors and museum curators from around the world.

This year notable pieces include works by L.S Lowry, Andy Warhol and Claude Monet. In addition the ‘Symbolic Yellow’ one of the largest old-cut vivid yellow diamonds ever recorded will be on display.

Lieutenant Governor and Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Hospital Chelsea Major General McDowall CBE said: “We are pleased to be hosting Masterpiece London which is one of the finest art fairs in the world. I am sure the Chelsea Pensioners will appreciate having such prestigious art works in the grounds of their home.”

Chelsea Pensioner Adrian Cole said: “I’m not arty myself, but I’m a fan of this sort of thing and will certainly enjoy having a look around. It’s lovely that Masterpiece is here within the grounds of the Royal Hospital.”
