The Margaret Thatcher Infirmary

The purpose-built Margaret Thatcher Infirmary, our care home with nursing, provides high quality care and nursing home services to Chelsea Pensioners when they are no longer able to live in the Long Wards.

Care Facilities

Alongside permanent accommodation, the Infirmary offers short stay facilities for Pensioners living in the Long Wards who require additional support during period of illness or convalescence following hospital treatment or surgery.

The Infirmary has a Medical Centre which provides on-site GP services and a gymnasium with a full physiotherapy and occupational therapy service for all Pensioners. Families and friends of Pensioners are welcome to visit at any time and accommodation is available for close relatives visiting Pensioners who are seriously ill.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea is thrilled to announce the launch of our new digital collection on the My House of Memories app. The My House of Memories app was created by House of Memories, National Museums Liverpool’s dementia awareness programme, by and for people living with dementia.
