First acts announced for Live At Chelsea 2016

Following its successful debut in 2015 the Royal Hospital are pleased to announce that the three day concert series, Live at Chelsea, will be returning for a second year.

Taking place over the weekend of June 17th-19th, the first act announced to perform within the historic buildings of the Royal Hospital are the incomparable Simply Red. Currently on their Big Love World Tour, having celebrated a milestone 30-year anniversary, the band will perform their classic hits on Sunday 19th June.

Frontman Mick Hucknall will be joined by his long serving band mates Ian Kirkham (sax), Steve Lewinson (bass), Kenji Suzuki (guitar), Kevin Robinson (trumpet and flute) and Dave Clayton (keyboards) plus new drummer Roman Roth.

Following this, pop-sensations Wet Wet Wet have announced their inclusion in the line-up. They will be performing at the Royal Hospital on Saturday 18th June.

Live At Chelsea is the only concert series staged at the Royal Hospital. The shows themselves are hosted in a fully seated auditorium in the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s central courtyard. Last year 20,000 music lovers attended performances by Rufus Wainwright, Damien Rice and Alison Moyet in the heart of Chelsea.

Andy Hickling, Quartermaster at the Royal Chelsea Hospital said: “After a fantastic line up in 2015, we are delighted that we will be welcoming music fans to the Royal Hospital Chelsea again next summer. The historic home of the Chelsea Pensioners is one of London’s architectural gems and offers a stunning backdrop to the world-class artists who will be performing.

“A portion of the ticket sale proceeds will also go towards funding care for the Chelsea Pensioners who live here, as well as helping to fund the ongoing maintenance of the Grade I listed site. All who manage to get tickets are guaranteed to experience a very special evening.”

Tickets priced between £40-75
