Chelsea Pensioners with Russell Watson & Friederike Krum at Angel StudiosThe Alpha Club has kindly sponsored the recording of a charity single in support of the Chelsea Pensioners' Scarlets Appeal.

The song ‘Home from Home’ was written and composed by Anthony & Gaynor Sadler and Anthony Carling for the Scarlets Appeal and sung by world-class tenor Russell Watson and, our Scarlets Appeal ambassador; the extraordinary mezzo-soprano Friederike Krum.

On the 8th October 2018 ‘Home from Home’ received its world premiere to a packed house at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Best of the West End show. The song is about the letters soldiers send home when on tour of duty and is a poignant reminder of the personal trauma of war.

A festive tradition dating back to the opening of the Royal Hospital in 1692 – today Dairy UK donated over 270kg of British cheeses to the Chelsea Pensioners to tide them over the festive period.

The Christmas period officially got underway today at the Royal Hospital, as the Chelsea Pensioners took part in the tradition of stirring in the ingredients for the Christmas pudding.
