Position closes on 30th September 2019

The Royal Hospital Chelsea is embarking on an ambitious restoration and refurbishment programme, focused on the unique and architecturally significant Stable Block, designed by Sir John Soane, which will bring the building back to life as a Heritage, Learning and Visitor Centre.  The Royal Hospital has approached the National Lottery Heritage Fund as the lead funder for this major capital project and has been encouraged to submit an application.  We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Trusts & Foundations Manager to work on securing match funding for this ambitious project alongside the Royal Hospital’s fundraising team.

This pivotal role in the Public Engagement Department of the Royal Hospital Chelsea will work within a small but highly dedicated team to increase the public’s awareness of this unique national institution, which has been the home of the iconic Chelsea Pensioners for 327 years.

Your duties will include relationship management of existing trusts/foundations, preparing an agreed number of high quality funding bids and executing grant reports, initiating and building relationships with new grant making trusts and foundations, ensuring a strong pipeline of prospects is maintained, and working in tandem with major gifts fundraising efforts. In addition, you will assume responsibility for devising and implementing a targeted trust fundraising strategy, supported by the Head of Fundraising and Director of Public Engagement.
