For the last few nights, the tranquil setting of the Royal Hospital has come alive as three main acts and their supporting artists took to the stage for Live at Chelsea. The South Grounds had a festival vibe with stalls selling food and drink and guests picnicking before making their way to the auditorium.

This year the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s annual Founder’s Day parade coincided with the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France and was attended by HRH the Duke of Sussex.

On the Royal Hospital’s south grounds the D-Day 75 Garden stands as an ephemeral and touching reminder of the sacrifice made by so many on the shores of Normandy on the 6th June 1944.

The Governor, Sir Adrian Bradshaw, and the Chelsea Pensioners were delighted yesterday to welcome to the Royal Hospital Chelsea another Veteran, Johnny Mercer MP, who completed three tours of Afghanistan.

The Chelsea Pensioners have a long-standing and close relationship with Canada, which is celebrated each year, since 2014, with a pancake breakfast at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

We were honoured to welcome Mel Stride, Financial Secretary to the Treasury and Paymaster General, to the home of the Chelsea Pensioners on 31 January.

Today, the Government of South Australia and the South Australian Branch of the Returned and Services League of South Australia (RSL) celebrated the annual Christmas Cake Ceremony with the Chelsea Pensioners.
