Staff take on 10k for the Royal Hospital Chelsea

27th August 2015

On 6th September staff at the Royal Hospital Chelsea will take on a 10k run in order to raise funds for the Chelsea Pensioners.

The run will take place at Regent’s Park and 20 members of staff are due to take part. They will be cheered on by the Chelsea Pensioners.

Chelsea Pensioner Charmaine Coleman who recently performed a wing walk display to raise funds for the Royal Hospital said: “I would have been very interested to do the run but I can’t because of my titanium knees!”

Kate Ainley-Marr, Friends Membership Officer at the Royal Hospital Chelsea said: “I have never run a 10k before for but I am proud to be doing so on behalf of the Royal Hospital Chelsea. The money raised will support the on-going provision of care for the Chelsea Pensioners, who we admire and respect very much. We have a wonderful relationship with the In-Pensioners and this is evidenced by the fact that so many staff members are taking up the challenge.”
