“It’s a great honour to be one of only a handful of locations in central London to be lighting a beacon, and wonderful to be part of these nationwide celebrations. Everybody at the Royal Hospital Chelsea wishes Her Majesty a very happy birthday.”
The Royal Hospital’s Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant Mark Smith lit the beacon, which was situated in the Royal Hospital’s Figure Court.
