The Friends of the Royal Hospital Chelsea is an active and welcoming membership scheme, offering a sociable experience to all our members as well as a deeper engagement with the Royal Hospital and the Chelsea Pensioners.

Crucially, revenue generated from subscriptions and members’ events is a vital income stream which supports the on-going work of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

Our popular annual events programme, which is open exclusively to Friends, includes lectures, musical recitals, regular trips to historic houses and military sites of note, many of which are typically closed to the public. It also provides a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded supporters of the Hospital.

If you would like to help repay the nation's debt to the Chelsea Pensioners, why not consider becoming a Friend? Membership starts from as little as £35 per year and offers a range of benefits including invitations to members' events throughout the year. Most importantly, your membership subscription in its entirety will be directed towards safeguarding the future of our remarkable veterans.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Friends!

Governor's Circle membership

Our Governor's Circle members enjoy all the benefits of a regular Friends membership, but are also welcomed to three very special occasions in the Royal Hospital's calendar.

The first is our prestigious Founder's Day parade held annually to commemorate the generosity and vision of King Charles II and where the Chelsea Pensioners are inspected by a member of the Royal Family.

The second sought after invitation is to a reception and private view of the world-famous Chelsea Flower Show, a celebration of the highest quality horticulture.

Finally, Governor's Circle members receive invitations to our exclusive annual Gala Dinner, attended by dignitaries, Chelsea Pensioners and held in the Hospital’s historic Great Hall, designed by Sir Christopher Wren.
