Burton Court

Burton Court is private property owned by The Royal Hospital Chelsea.
The Home of the Chelsea Pensioners is a Grade one listed Wren masterpiece that has constant multi-million pound refurbishment costs.
The Royal Hospital is not owned by the government and we are responsible for raising the money to meet this upkeep.
Burton Court is one of our few key assets that is able to make a financial contribution to the Appeal. Burton Court itself has considerable overhead costs including groundsmen and security.
We run Burton Court as a business selling passes to local people who wish to have access to our unique private exercise facility.

Demand for pass cards is high and the eco structure there quite delicate, so we have to balance carefully the usage, and impose rules on pass holders which we have to insist are followed so that every one can enjoy the area.

  • Access to the Burton Court tennis courts
  • Personal tennis coaching for adults and children (prices on application to the coaches, only Passholders and their families may use the coaching service)
  • Children's Tennis Academy (prices on application to the coaches, academy places are only available to children of passholding families)
  • Dog walking
  • Green space for exercising
  • Access to the cricket nets for practising cricket skills
